Hybrid Happy Birthday Card

So glad to be creating again!  This card was posted on the Weekly Scrapper.  The original card was discovered on the Inspiration Blooms Blog. and was done by Michele Pearson.  I just loved that it was clean and simple.  I used the same Happy Birthday embossing folder but chose a different image.  This image was done in MDS2 and then printed.  The Stamp Brush Set is "Just Believe".  I used Pear Pizazz, Wisteria Wonder and Daffodil Delight to color the flowers.  I also added a pear pizazz ribbon as an embellishment.  There are so many ways to make this card your own.  Have fun creating!

Hi Everyone!  Wow .... it's been a while!  I went back to work full time in November so needless to say things have been crazy!  I did take some time to make a few cards.  With Valentines day coming up I wanted to get a head start on getting something together for the grandkids.

Supplies Used:
Heart Sweet Treat Cups (120435) ... you get 12 for $2.95!
Stamp set My Little Valentine (132242).
Full Heart Punch (119883)
1 inch circle Punch (119868)
DSP and Embellishments of your choice

Instructions:
Card Base is the standard 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 folded at 4 1/4.
Cut 2 layers:  1at 5 1/4 x 4 and 1 at 5 x 3/34
Line them up the way you want them on the base and punch the heart
NOTE:  YOU may break your punch if you try to go all the way through both pieces of paper.  Just squeeze it enough to place cut marks on both pieces.  Pull them apart and then one at a time line the punch with the cut marks on the paper to make the complete cut.

Put the adhesive on all 4 sides of the top layer of DSP and then place the Sweet Treat Cup through the punched heart.  Remove the adhesive from the Sweet treat cup and add it to the bottom layer of the DSP.

When all of this is together put adhesive on 3 sides (2 sides and the bottom) and adhere it to the base of the card.  (you should have a heart punched out of the base as well)  When you open the card the heart will be punched all the way through and  you can add your candy.

Cut a piece of card stock approx 3 1/2 x 5.  This is your trap door and will be placed between the top 2 layers of DSP and the card base (this is why you don't add adhesive to the top of the layer)

I punched a half circle with the 1 inch circle punch and then added a small hole and a piec of ribbon to pull the slider.

Hope this makes sense :)  Have fun and happy crafting!  See you next time!
