12 Weeks of Christmas - Week 11
As my kids (and grandkids) have gotten older their Christmas lists more often than not include money and/or gift cards.  I had so much fun with these.  You can use any combination of papers, stamps, punches, ribbons, etc.  Be creative!  These are great for so many occasions (Christmas, birthday, graduation, just because) and the list goes on.    Enjoy!

Instructions:

Gift Card Holder 1 - This card was done using the tutorial at weeklyscrapper.com.  I used the Word Window Punch (119857) and the 1-inch circle Punch (119868) for my slit (where the $/gift card will go).  Position each punch half-way down the punch before cutting.  Click here for the instructions:

12 Weeks of Christmas - Week 7

This weeks card is made exclusively from one kit.  Below the card is a picture of all of the product you get in the kit and you can use it to create tons of cards, or scrapbook pages.  Some of the things included in the kit are sticker embellishments, 2 (12x12) sheets of basic grey, cherry cobbler, old olive, very vanilla and about 6 (can't remember the exact count) of designers series paper.  Several sheets of stickers.  Everything (a few exceptions) on this card came from the kit.  The ribbon is some ribbon that I had picked up on sale at Michaels.  I also used the More Merry Messages stamp set (which I absolutely LOVE!), bakers twine in Cherry Cobbler and Stampin Dimensionals.

Products Used:
Merry Moments Scrapping Kit  (126911)

12 Weeks of Christmas - Week 6

This week I decided to design a card (actually I did two) using the My Digital Studio 2 Software.  The first card I wanted to use one stamp and see how I could change it.   Here are the results

  • I started with Baja Breeze Card Stock as the background
  • The snowflake is from the Old St. Nick Stamp set in Whisper White.  I added the snowflake stamp and then copied/pasted several others on the page.  I resized them into different sizes and then changed the opacity (a slider bar in MDS 2) to make some of them appear translucent.
  • The ribbon/bow embellishment in Whisper White
  • Added Whisper White card stock as a page layer and then sized it down
  • Sentiment is from the Come to Bethlehem stamp set in Basic Black
  • Large Photo Corner Punch was used and layered behind the Whisper White.  The color of the Corner Punch was changed to Raspberry Ripple
For the second card I wanted to see how quickly I could design a card using a kit.  This card is made from the Candy Cane Lane Designer Kit.  The basic card took about 10 minutes (most of the time was making the decision as to what kit to use) and another 10 minutes to get the embellishments, stamp set and papers resized to my liking

  • Real Red Card Stock was used as the background
  • Whisper White card stock was added as a page layer and then resized to show the real red as a mat
  • The ornament and designer series paper was added using the Candy Cane Lane designer kit and resized
  • Whisper White was added as a second page layer and resized over the DSP
  • Merry Christmas in Real Red from the Come to Bethlehem stamp set
Note:  Images from the MDS software can be printed on your personal printer or downloaded and professionally printed by Stampin Up!  You can complete a variety of projects from cards to scrapbooking pages, calendars, recipe cards, etc.

This is my very first post and hopefully the first of many.  I became a Stampin Up! demonstrator in November 2011 as a "hobbyist".  On September 22nd of this year I was invited to a Stampin Up! Regional Convention in Chattanooga, TN by one of my new friends who has been a demonstrator for 9 years (thanks Sharon!)  I cannot tell you how much fun this was.  I became recharged and decided to share what I love with others.  One of the many things that I enjoyed about Convention is the swaps.  With around 300 people at convention came that many new ideas (as well as that many new friends).  It was great connecting and sharing with others and learning new techniques.  If you enjoy creating homemade cards and gifts and would like to see or purchase Stampin Up! products please click on one of the logos to the right.  You can also follow my blog by adding your email address in the box on the right.  Enjoy!
